Project Management F.A.Q.s
Got a few questions about project management? Here are the answers to some of them:
How Will Project Management Help My Business?
There are several reasons why you should look at project management (I've listed 6 of them in the grid above this section).
Simply put, project management will help you and your business with efficiency.
You'll be better organized and productive, you'll get an overview of the ‘present' (important tasks, and projects you're working on), as well as on the ‘future' of your business (think future deadlines, for example).
If you feel as if things have been a bit chaotic in your business or you have left some opportunities fall through the crack, project management will help you change that.
I'm a Company of One, Does This Still Apply to Me?
I'd dare to say that especially if you are a solopreneur, you need a way to get an overview of what's happening in your business and the various projects, tasks, and deadlines you're busy with or have coming up.
Here's a tip for you: think long-term. Even if you're working on your own at the moment, organize your project management tool in a way that would allow you to easily bring other people on board (think an assistant or a team member, as well as a collaborator, partner, or client).
Not sure how to get started with that? No worries, I can help you with that!
What is the Best Project Management Tool?
The BEST project management tool is the one that suits your business needs. I've used dozens of tools, moved from one to the other to experiment, and found what I was looking for.
I used Trello for years (and still use it, sometimes, with some clients) but found that my needs outgrew what it had to offer…and came across ClickUp.
ClickUp has been my go-to project management tool for years now, it's probably the one resource I use the most in my daily and weekly activities.
Looking for something solid but easy-to-use? Take a look at Trello.
If you're thinking long-term or are looking for more advanced features, my #1 recommendation would be ClickUp (I love the ability to change dashboard views – think Kanban, list, Gantt, timeline, and more – with just a couple of clicks).
Other options you may want to look into are Nifty, Asana, or Miro (it may not be a project management tool per se but it's very powerful and I'd suggest checking it out, especially if you're quite the visual person).
A quick note: some of the links above are affiliate links and I'll receive a commission fee – at no additional cost for you – if you decide to sign up for a tool using my link.
What If I DON'T Run an online business?
It doesn't matter whether you run an online business or a brick-and-mortar type of business.
Your business activities are made of tasks. You may have projects, new products, or services you're working on getting on the market…
So, yes, your business needs a project management tool regardless of the type of business you run or the niche you're in.
How Does the Consulting Process Work? And what do you charge?
You can check out the 6-step process I use in my consulting work by scrolling down this page (you'll see an image that explains it).
As for my rates, no business is exactly the same, and the same can be said for a project. That's why the best way for you to proceed is to click on the button you see toward the bottom part of the page and fill out the questionnaire to tell me more about what you have in mind and receive a quotation.
If you only have a series of questions you'd like for us to cover in one or two hours, I can assist you that way as well. In this case, the fees are:
- 1-hour consulting call: 350€
- 2-hour consulting call (this can be split into two 1-hour consulting calls): 600€
